So after a long day at work on Wednesday, I went to Angie's house with Mike to hang out with her followed by a drive to the airport. We hung out and watched May (still one of my all time favorite movies), and then around 11 we got in Mike's car to take her to Newark. We ended up going the wrong way and by the time we actually got her to the hotel it was about 1am. Mike had to be home by 2 and he was running low on gas. So we thought (since there was a sign) that the Shell station (across from the Hibernia Diner) off of Rt. 80 was 24 hours. So we get off of Rt. 80, to see that the Shell station was closed.... wtf?! So Mike is dangerously low on fuel, so we make it back to Angie's to get my car, and we decided on me driving him home (he was on the way anyway), and in the morning before my adventures with Laura, Josh and Shane, I would bring him back to Angie's to get his car. So I got home around 2:30am, then passed the fuck out. I woke up @ 10, took a super quick shower, then got dressed and picked up Mike. We went back to Angie's, got his car, and he barely made it back to the gas station.

I got to Laura's house around 12:45, and she came out in shorts, fishnets, and knee high socks. So I told her to go in and put on jeans, since we would be doing the "urban exploring" thing, and probably would be traipsing through the woods and stuff. So she changed, then we were off, with a stop to Taco Bell on the way. It was there that Laura found that she had forgotten her $20 her dad had given her, in the pocket of her shorts. So we went back to her house, then we were finally on our way again. We got to Josh's house and met his mom and her bugs. Yes. Bugs. She had some kind of rare cockroach and some tarantulas that made me want to run out of the house screaming. And he seriously had the biggest cat I have ever seen (lol Srs Cat!). We grabbed his camera and stuff, then went to pick up Shane, who was apparently harrassed by a cop that looked like the guy from the Shield. We then made a stop at this store called "We have Freakin' Video Games" or something, and it seriously had about every game ever. Even Sega Genesis and Game Gear!!!! If my Game Gear was still working I totally would have bought everything. We went to Wawa so we could piss and get Josh coffee, but alas, we found that Wawa doesn't have bathrooms so off to Dunkin' Donuts we went.

We then did our million hour trek up to the Paulinskill Viaducts. Which was amazing. We parked our car and walked towards the bridge, but went down by the river, and Shane fell in while I had a panic attack over a huge wolf spider *shudder*. We couldn't find an entrance over there, so we went down a path in the woods, which we cut through some woods to get to a field which was rich with stickerbushes and wild strawberries. We came across a house with dogs barking that we got super bad vibes from, so we turned around and saw a turtle (NOT A KNEE PAD lol)!! We ducked back into the woods and then found the house again, but Shane ran accross the yard and to the car since we were parked on the street. Laura, Josh, and I decided to be stubborn and try and cut through the woods, which was just an all around horrible idea, and we ended up running through the person's yard, too. We then found the bridge.... which was probably about 2 yards away from the river. Shane was my "buddy" and we climbed up to the top, to the actual bridge part... and it was beyond amazing. The view was incredible. It made the sticker bushes, and bugs, and crazyness worth it. We then heard Laura and Josh calling us, so we were making our way down to see.... that they were right below us when we were on the top!! So they talked us through getting up to them.. and that made it so much better! We climbed down ladders and admired the graffitti (alot of it was seriously breathtaking... and there was even a TROGDOOOOOOR!), and at one point we had to walk across a wooden plank someone laid out. It was ridiculous. But completely amazing. I want to take AJ there so badly. Definitely during the day though. I don't think even I could handle it at night.

After that, we went back to Josh's house to do a tick check (I found one. Ew.), and get flashlights so we could go to Skillman Village. But when we got there Josh's car was making this crazy loud noise and it was just wayyyy too dark around there. Plus word on the street is that people use the bottom floors of the place as a shooting range. Yeah. We didn't wanna get shot. Haha. So we drove around and chilled and ended up sitting on the roof of this house-thing on a lake telling creepy stories. We then took Shane home, and Laura and I left around 2am. I was completely exhausted, so the original plan was for me to stay over @ Laura's at that point, then wake up when she did to go home and shower before picking up Aidan. But since I scared the living hell out of Laura on the way home, which in turn, when she screamed she scared the living hell out of me, I got a second wind and just went home to sleep.

It was an amazing adventure. Seriously. I can't wait to do it alllll again. :D

Also- a tidbit on the Perry family.

I was supposed to pick up Aidan @ 11:15 at his school. I was on my way there, about 5 minutes away, and it was about 10:55 when I noticed my phone ringing. Aidan's mom was calling me. Weird. Apparently, he had gotten out of school @ 10:40. Whoops. She had given me the wrong time to pick him up, so she was and I was going to meet her at the house. So good job, Mrs. Perry. You have forgotten to pick up your child for the 2nd time this month. You get a cookie.

Lame part is that on Monday I have to pick him up @ 10:40. Yuck.

More Adventures!

Ew!
Tuesday night was yet another Weird NJ adventure after a long day of work. The father was away so I was working right up until 6, then the mother has to talk my ear off for 10 minutes. Bah.

So I piked up Josh and Shane and we went to the "Devil's Lockbox" in Far Hills first since it was still light out.

spooooky vision! )

After that fun, we stopped at my house to grab a flashlight and some bugspray and we were off to the Paulinskill Viaduct, which is basically a giant abandoned tunnel kind of thing off Rt. 80. It took us about an hour to get up there, and it was, indeed, in the boonies. We took all the sketchy back roads and went underneath these amazing arch-tunnels. And we passed a spraypainted redneck mobile. Another fun point of our trip was going under the bridge that had a swatstika and "white power" spraypainted on the side of it. Yay. But we could not find any landmarks that would tell us that we had found the Viaduct. So we made our way to the main road and up to the truck stop at the top of the exit by 80 to see if there was a diner or something where we could ask if anyone knew where it was. We ended up walking around the foodstore part and boy howdy were there some fun items in there! There were some nice DOC Orange vests that were frayed at the sleeves, and apparently you can buy some fishing equipment while there, too. And I can't forget the Best of Fiddling cassette tape! From there we went to the McDonald's that was open 24 hours, because I was completely starving. We saw a large group of people sitting around so we yelled through the glass to ask where the viaduct was. No one knew, so we just kinda booked it back to my car since they were all mad sketchy. But this big guy came out telling us he knew where it was, and he gave us directions, but then added on, "Yeah, my friend died there." it was weird, since he was way too excited to give us directions to where his friend apparently died... So we followed the directions and found where we were supposed to go down... a pitch black trail. That's what we saw, literally. There are no other words to describe it. And no where to leave my car. It was also about 11:30 at night so the road was desserted, I could have just parked on the side of the road and we could have went, but then we thought about the guy at the McDonald's. They could fuck with us way too easily... so we left and we're going to go back sometime soon during the day most likely, just so we can park in town and just walk over.

So that was our adventure. This summer is totally kicking ass already.

An adventure was had!

Ew!
So I talked to my friend Josh from school yesterday and he was talking about how his summer was filled with adventure. I told him mine was pretty standard so he said that we should have an adventure. And so we did.

But first, I went to work and one of my most hated things happened. Their dad came home @ 4:00 and said, "Oh.... I have to take Aidan to the doctor. Can you wait with Shane? Thanks." But he didn't leave til almost 4:30. I feel so awkward when their dad is home and they're with him and I'm just kind of..there. But the all time weirdest thing happened... Shane was extremely well behaved! It was the weirdest thing ever.

After work I visited Zombie and Buddy for a couple of hours. Then Josh called me up and I met up with him and his friend Shane at the mall. As we were eating some dinner and they were talking about Weird NJ shit and how they were walking aroun the woods in Titusville all day looking for abandoned train tracks. I asked them if they've ever been to Devil's Tree. So after a Lego Car Race @ the Lego store while Shane smoked a cig, we were off to the Devil's Tree.

There was a full moon outside, which made it look pretty damn cool. And Josh took some sweet pictures, then we went up to that building in Far Hills that has no doors or windows but a trap door in the roof called, "The Devil's Lockbox" at the top of Jacob's Ladder. At night, you cannot see this thing from the road at all. So I parked my car and put on my headlights so we can actually see the building. The second we stepped into the patch of woods, we got a weird, uneasy feeling. Shane was the first one out and up to the building, and Josh was right up to it too. I took my time, since I was wearing some flip flops... but we heard a sound like a stone slab move. I thought it was one of them until I saw the looks on their faces. I couldn't have run back to my car fast enough. They walked around it a little more, then we went to the barn on Country Club road, by where I used to live so Josh could get more pictures. We then went to a park where we all played on the playground, til about 11:15, when they were both thirsty. So we went to Quik Chek. But we took Milltown Road, which crosses underneath a train track. So we parked and Josh ran up to take pictures. As he was finishing up, a cop car drove by. We were just getting into my car when the cop pulled into the parking lot I was parked in and shone his huge floodlight on us. So we had to answer the 384932497 questions on what we were doing and why and where we were going and blahblahblah. And we wrapped up our night with Quik Chek.

He said hanging out with him would be an adventure.
